MST3K Space Mutiny: Kalgon by GuiMontag MST3K Space Mutiny: Kalgon by GuiMontag
I recently saw one of the most popular and funniest episodes of Mystery Science Theater 3000, Space Mutiny. My favorite character from that episode is Kalgon, commander of the Enforcers and head of the mutiny on the Southern Sun. I decided to draw a few of his scenes that I liked the best. Check out that episode on youtube if you haven't already seen it; you won't be disappointed. The first part is here [link] and all ten parts have been put up, as well.

"Oh Kalgon, blow me away!"

The movie is just so BAAAAAAAAD. But, I love the fact that you drew MST3k scenes from it xDD "We'll be reaching speeds of 3!"

Oh man, the way they riffed that was totally hilarious! "Bob Johnson!... No, wait..."

The ending was kinda stupid, though, & it irked me a lot. I mean, it's impossible for a normal man to survive a tremendous explosion that was caused by two small machines! Did any of the producers get that fact through their thick skulls while they were creating that movie?!!?

Apparently it is possible to survive an explosion caused by a collision between two golf carts filled with a cleaning solution-nitro glycerin mixture; you'd just need Kalgon's inhuman skull-popping abilities...

No, it was because the creators were a bunch of crack-high idiots who had their brains replaced with rat droppings.

Maybe, but the Bellerians clearly stated that it was "time for Kalgan", forshadowing that Kalgan would wind up biting the dust! They forshadowed Chief Engineer MacPhearson's death, after all. (Because how could a disabled guy survive being exposed to gas flames?)

But those idiotic film producers wound up ruining it all by making some stupid suspense ending about having the villian wind up being alive when it was CLEARLY obvious that he died, all for some stupid sequel that they'll never produce anyways!!!

I actually own a VHS copy of the original Space Mutiny and had a blast. Of course I couldn't stop quoting MST3k throughout :P

You know, they've compared the ending of that movie to Ben-Hur?

"Ben-Hur was really good. This movie totally sucks."
